About Us

Representing daily and weekly newspapers throughout Idaho, the Newspaper Association of Idaho supports free speech, a free press, and open government through lobbying efforts and providing information to state leaders and residents. The combined paid circulation of the association’s newspapers is nearly 180,000 physical copies and 1,875,000 digital page views, covering almost 40 percent of Idaho’s households.

According to the National Newspaper Association, our members’ weekly print readership is 414,000* Idaho adults. This is in addition to the growing digital audience, which is a combined 1.1 million unique visitors on their websites every 90 days. If you want to reach Idaho residents, there is no better way.

Many of Idaho’s newspapers date back to well before the beginning of the 20th century and remain Idaho’s most essential and reliable local news, information, and advertising sources. The Newspaper Association of Idaho was formed in 2011 by merging the Idaho Allied Dailies and the Idaho Newspaper Association. Now, for the first time in a generation, a single organization represents Idaho’s daily and weekly newspapers.

NAI’s government affairs representative is Jeremy Pisca of the law firm of Risch-Pisca in Boise. NAI actively supports efforts to ensure government openness, freedom of speech, and freedom of the press. We encourage parties interested in legislation related to newspapers or government transparency to contact Pisca before preparing and presenting legislation. NAI works closely with the Idaho Press Club and other media organizations.
